WOW! Updates!

With the new Circle K year, comes our first major District Event: Spring Training Conferences (STC). Please give hugs to STC North Chair Gail Nipitnorasate and STC South Chair Lisa Bao for their hard work and effort to provide an amazing event this year. We have provided you with the matrix in advance so that you can become excited about our amazing event. There are some new approaches we are taking to this year’s event, and they all came from your evaluations of past year’s conferences. We hope to get more feedback this year.

Also, International Convention (ICON) is coming as well! August 6-9^th, travel with more than 60 other Cal-Nev-Ha members to Denver, Colorado to celebrate our Mighty District’s accomplishments. We have an entire page dedicated to this amazing event, with information on costs, and our super secret, super awesome District Theme for our ICON. I promise, we’ll let you know what it is on April 28^th.

Finally, get ready to check out our “Community” tab within the next few days. We are truly dedicated as a board to increase communication to our membership and the member experience. The Community tab of this website is actually YOUR tab that contains member recognition, our Publication (Sunburst!), and communication devices such as District Board member blogs and a Youtube® account. We believe these resources will help provide you with an inside look of how we are going to help you love Circle K more than you already do.

I hope you all enjoy the updates so far that our Technology Chair has put together. This is only the beginning of numerous other innovative plans. I hope you all stay tuned for these.

Check back often for a special look at what to expect this year from our officers, and inside look at our District Officer Training Conference, and easier ways of filling out our Monthly Report Forms.

Congratulations to the following individuals, who fulfilled all qualifications and stood out during the interview process:

District Kiwanis Family Chair - Gail Nipitnorasate, UC Berkeley
District Convention Chair - Richard Kong, UC Irvine
Fall Training Conference Chair - Monica Alegre, De Anza College
District Go West! Chair - Eric Ly, UC Irvine
District Technology Chair - Francis Casanova, UN Las Vegas
On to International Convention Chair - Danielle Iwatsu, 2007-2008 Governor

Also, congratulations to our newly appointed Executive Board Officers:

District Treasurer - Alice Hua, University of California, Los Angeles
District Publications Editor - Amy Wang, University of California, Berkeley

All of these individuals will do an amazing job serving on the 08-09 Board this year. Please give them your support through this year. We had 26 applicants for 9 positions, and it was a really tough decision in many cases. However, I encourage all of you to serve on District committees, and join your club boards to make our district even better.

There is still one appointed position available: Awards Chair. If you are interested in the position, please email me you interest and I will arrange an appointment to speak with you. Also, if you are in the Foothill or Capital Divisions and are interested in serving as Lieutenant Governor, please contact me as well.
